Having had basic training in pharmacology (the study of drugs), I applaud the invention of the term “side effects”. It really is marketing genius.
On the one hand you have the one effect of the drug that is meant to be beneficial. On the other hand you have a list of effects that are to be “acknowledged but not focused on”.
If I told you that THE ONE benefit of having a puppy (there are many but bear with me) is that you get its undying affection and at the same time here’s a list of seven other things that you’re going to have to deal with, including a possibly uncontrollable puppy, how would you feel about the puppy?
I think the rise of alternative medicine in the 80’s and 90’s is partly because it works and partly because there are less side-effects. And the side-effects for chiropractic as an example include: less days in the hospital, less outpatient surgeries and less hospital admissions.
Through chiropractic care, you’re not only reaping the direct benefits of improved health and self-directed growth. You’re also reaping the benefits of what you’re avoiding.
