Get sick less often

Dr. TonyNSA

I started going to a Chiropractor when I was a teenager. I had had a soccer injury. I, along with a player from the opposing team, attempted to kick the ball at the same time in opposite directions. My coach had always said to power through so I did. The ball went forward but my hip and low back gave out. As a result, I had pain in my low back and hip especially if I tried to run.

As I attended my appointments at the Chiropractic clinic, I started to feel better. At first I had less pain and after a while I was able to run again without any problems. As time passed, I also noticed that my asthma started to disappear. And I was getting sick with colds and flus less often.

Over my 25+ years practicing Chiropractic, I have discovered that this is a common experience for many people. Not only do their immediate health concerns improve, but their bodies, in particular, their immune systems, seem to work better. It’s not like I’ve been taking blood samples to measure patients’ immune markers; I’ve observed this noticeable improvement from patient feedback.

What exactly is it about Chiropractic that seems to have a positive effect on a person’s immune system?

We have special cells in the body that help us sense our environment. For example, the eyes have photoreceptors that convert light into electrical information. The brain then interprets the information. The ears have hair cells deep inside that convert vibration in the air into electrical signals that travel to the brain to be interpreted.

You can think of the immune system, such as some of the white blood cells, Natural Killer cells and B and T cells as special sense cells. These very specialized cells circulate either all over the body or in specific tissues, such as the lymph, and they convey information to the brain via the nervous system.

The brain collects the information and then sets about telling the body to take some sort of action such as to produce more antibodies or to create a fever (to inactivate bacteria or viruses).

So just like with vision, hearing, taste, smell and touch, the immune system requires a nervous system to transmit information to the brain. And the brain requires a properly functioning nervous system to create an adaptive response based on the information that it has gathered.

It stands to reason that if the communication network that runs between the specialized cells and the brain is impaired in some way, then the information that reaches the brain will either be distorted, delayed or misinterpreted. The brain might not even know to mount an immune response or it might overreact and produce an over-response, such as in the case of auto-immune disorders or allergies/asthma.

NeuroSpinal Optimization (NSO) helps to improve how the nervous system works. It helps to produce clarity in the communication superhighways that is the spinal cord, brain stem and nerves.

If you’re looking to improve your chances of not getting sick, it’s a good idea to use a multi-pronged approach, to improve your chances. NSO is one important way to stay at your best, healthy and vibrant.
