What’s running your life?

Dr. TonyNSA

Assuming that something is running your life, hopefully you have command of it.

It could be a sense of purpose, destiny or wanting to serve and give your gifts. It could also be fear, grief, guilt, anger or even shame.

Typically for most of us, what’s running our lives is a mix of the things and probably others. When I say ‘running out lives’, I literally mean that, as if we had a program running in the background, “making” us do things a certain way, compelling us to make certain choices, feeling certain sensations and emotions, and even helping us have certain beliefs and perspectives.

Part of our experience can also be feelings like anxiety and depression. We typically feel anxiety (a heightened fight/flight response) or depression (an accentuated parasympathetic response) in order to avoid feeling the source, such as the previously mentioned fear, grief guilt, anger and shame.

When we can zoom out from the immediacy of our daily lives, we’re then able to gain a broader perspective. We’re able to look behind the curtain to see the ‘wizard’ that’s actually running the show.

Whatever is behind the curtain ‘running the show’ has created patterns in the nervous system. These patterns then reinforce our behaviours, choices, perspectives etc.

How do we change this programming? Is it even possible?

NeuroSpinal Optimization (NSO) is one solution. By changing the patterning in the nervous system, NSO is able to help you change what’s running in the background. You then have more possibility to live more authentically. This in turn helps you attract new and different people, situations and possibilities because with a newly functioning nervous system, the signal that you’re broadcasting carries a new vibe.

Bob had initially come in to the clinic because of stress and back pain. He progressed through an initial phase of care, where his back was able to heal and his nervous system wasn’t so stressed out. He told me during the reexam that he had noticed feelings of stuckness, moving into confusion, as well as anger.

He had started to reflect more on his life and he realized that certain traumatic experiences seemed to be ‘coming to the surface’. I shared with him a bit about how the changes in the nervous system that we had made, are helping him discern what he’s been feeling and where those feelings are coming from.

He decided to continue working with me because he said that “he wants to resolve these feelings once and for all”. He can see how they’ve been robbing him of his energy and keeping him from being at his best. I feel blessed to be able to serve Bob in this capacity. I know from experience that with NeuroSpinal Optimization, you can be more in charge of your life!
