It’s About More Than Just Relaxing

One of the most common things I hear after a NeuroSpinal Optimization entrainment is: “I feel so relaxed.”

It’s great feedback. I’m a big fan of relaxing. But I also think it’s important—for both healing and self-awareness—that we go a little deeper and ask: What does “relaxed” actually mean to you?

At the surface level, relaxation might just feel physical. Muscles that were tight have softened. The body isn’t gripping or bracing quite so much. That alone is valuable—your body moving out of defense and into ease.

But often, relaxation goes much further than that.

It might mean that, for the first time in a while, you feel safe. That you can stop constantly scanning your environment or preparing for the next thing. It might feel like you’re finally being held—by the table, by the space, or just by the moment itself.

Relaxation might mean you no longer have to keep your head above water. You don’t have to perform, pretend, or protect. You can let your guard down. You can let your thoughts drift without clinging to them. You can simply be yourself, for a moment.

So the next time you feel relaxed—whether it’s after an entrainment or during a quiet moment at home—pause. Notice what else is happening. What’s different in your breath? In your posture? In your inner world?

Because the more you look, the more you’ll find.

And that kind of awareness is where true healing begins.
