When we take stock of the year that has passed and we look ahead to the year to come. It’s funny that we can do that anytime we want, yet this practice has been institutionalized at the start of the calendar year.
My recollections of 2013 are that it has been my best year yet! Most of it was spent righting the course that 2012 took me on previously. And I’ve noticed that the year went by in a flash, literally! It went by so fast, you wouldn’t want to stop, bend over and tie your shoe laces. In 2013 I managed to achieve a much healthier balance between work and home life, especially when it comes to my headspace. In other words, when I was at work, I was 100% focused and present there and when I wasn’t working, I was focused and present at home or with other aspects of my personal life.
I also noticed that in 2013, I was developing the muscles (mental, physical and emotional) to be able to achieve more and this is what I’m looking forward to in 2014; More depth in my work life, whether it’s with respect to managing my practice, being fully present with my practice members or branching out and being able to provide even more value to people; More depth in my personal life including an even healthier body, a deeper and more fulfilling relationship with my wife and partner and with my family.
It’s going to be a great year! It’s up to us to make it happen. It’s time to grab the bull by the horns and to finally put things into place. Make a plan and follow through. How would you like your life to be different a year from now? When looking back at the next New Year’s day, what would you like to see? How will it feel to have accomplished what you set out to do?
Send me some feedback, I look forward to hearing it. And make it your best year ever!
