Karen was in the other day and after her session, we talked about what she noticed and what I found her body doing.
I told her that many of the tension patterns that our bodies hold are due to the way we go about our lives. One such pattern is “being stuck in the past”. Another one is “being in our heads way too much”. And another one is the tension that is created by the schism between our identity (how we see ourselves) and who we really are.
This tension pattern exists because our natural self is being covered up by our conditioned self. Unfortunately, many people don’t know the difference. They think that their conditioned self IS their natural self. I remember a time when I too didn’t see the difference for myself. And I also remember awakening to see that there IS a difference.
Our identity or the conditioned self is one we all create, from the time that we start to differentiate from our parents. It includes many things of course, although when I talk about the conditioned self, I mean the masks that we have learned to put on, in order to get love, in order to survive, in order to fit in, the list goes on. And I would say that “the healing journey” in most people’s lives is one that tries to shed the conditioned self for the more energy-rich natural self.
It doesn’t take any energy to be our natural selves. In contrast, it takes a lot of energy to try to be someone that we’re not. If you know someone who is always tired, has problems with fatigue, chances are they have an internal struggle happening between their natural self and their conditioned self.
Karen was able to see how this theme was running currently in her life. She could see how her conditioned self was getting in the way of her knowing what she really wants. She had noticed lately a general feeling of apathy.
I explained to her that the entrainment is not just about helping to reduce this particular tension pattern. It is also meant to help the brain feel and find that tension in the body. As the brain disperses the tension, this opens the door to you being your natural self rather than your conditioned self.
If you’ve ever felt more relaxed or a little wobbly after an entrainment session, you were feeling you, being more your natural self; No need to pretend or try to impress or try to anticipate what someone is expecting of you, no need to worry or to perform.
The less of a difference that exists between the conditioned self and natural self, the more we experience happiness, joy, peace, fulfillment, meaning and a healthier immune system. Health is then a byproduct of us choosing to be who we really are.
