One day, maybe one that has already passed, you’ll be standing in front of a mirror surprised or incredulous and ask yourself: How did I get here? ‘Here’ might be the way you look, the way you feel or the way you move. Without judgement, you will be observing your habitual state.
Your habitual state is made of what you focus your attention on. If you’re not in charge of what you focus on, you get results that you don’t want.
“One rain does not make a crop.” – Creole proverb
Your natural state can become your habitual state, it just takes practice; Practice of where you put your attention. As far as I can tell, it is the only thing that we can control so we might as well practice to get good at it:).
As we get better at focusing our attention, we start to get the results that we want. And instead of being disappointed or surprised, we’ll know how we got ‘here’ because we focused on it.
